Medications work well if they are taken correctly and at the right time. This can be hard if you or your loved ones take multiple medications. We can help by preparing special packaging that will help you keep track of the timing and the amount you need to take for each of your medications. Progressive Pharmacy has a Meds Check program that allows you to schedule a 20 to 30 minute one-to-one meeting with the pharmacist to ensure that you are safely and appropriately using all types of medication.

Free Counselling and Friendly Care
If you have any questions regarding your health, your pharmacist is often the first and most accessible health care professional you can visit in your community. Not only are pharmacists medication experts, but they are also knowledgeable in the areas of disease prevention, nutrition, fitness, and general health and wellness. Our pharmacists will work with you to make sure that you and your loved ones are at ease and have a complete understanding of their medications.
Blood Pressure Tracking
We have a calibrated machine for customer use and tracking. It is always good to remember that as of 2018 hypertension Canada recommends checking your blood pressure at home. This can help you to get your true RESTING blood pressure, i.e. not after coffee, driving, moving around, waiting in lines, etc.
Flu Shots and Vaccines
The flu shot is:
- safe (including for kids and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding) and your best defense
- available from your doctor or nurse practitioner, and at participating pharmacies and local public health units across the province
- proven to reduce the number of doctor visits, hospitalizations and deaths related to the flu
- different each year because the virus changes frequently – so you need to get it every fall
Flu season runs from late fall to early spring. Be sure to get your shot as soon as it is available because it takes two weeks to take effect.
Compression stockings (also known as compression hose, pressure stockings, support stockings, and gradient stockings) are special stockings designed to improve blood flow in your legs. They work by squeezing your leg, which helps the blood flow upwards and return to the rest of body. Poor blood circulation in the legs may lead to the formation of a clot, known as a deep vein thromboembolism, which can cause a life-threatening stroke.
